DETERMINATION OF THE ADHESION STRENGTH OF CERAMIC COATINGS
It is an on-site test for determining the bond strength of ceramic tile coverings installed with adhesive mortar on walls and floors in both internal and external environments.
Reference: NBR 13.755 – Annex A.
NBR 13528 - Part 3.
The test consists of verifying the adhesion of the coating to the substrate using a hydraulic device coupled to a load cell, which extracts the test specimens and indicates the tensile bond strength through the measured load.
The Test Specimen is composed of the coating itself to be measured, cut down to the base using a mechanical tool, and attached to a square metal dolly (100 mm per side) bonded to the coating with a high-adhesion chemical adhesive.
